IGPNEA is delighted to announce a Menopause Course for its members. The course shall consist of three modules. Modules 1 and 2 will be delivered via webinar accessible through the Medcafe website. Module 3 will be delivered at a face to face skills day at Midlands Park Hotel. You must be able to commit to all three modules to be able to complete the course.
The purpose of the course is to provide education for GPNs to advance knowledge and skills in the care of patients going through menopause.
Menopause care is an essential part of working in general practice. Enabling GPNs to have up to date knowledge empowers them with confidence while assessing, managing and providing advice to ladies with menopausal symptoms.
Providing training to GPNs will ensure they will:
- have a basic understanding of menopause.
- know how to diagnosis premature ovarian insufficiency (POI), perimenopause/ menopause.
- understand the management and treatment of menopausal symptoms.
- know where to signpost women for further advice.
- ensure women will have access to accurate and up to date information.
- be aware of further education opportunities.
When all three modules are completed a certificate of completion shall be issued to each course participant. An application shall be made to NMBI for category 1 approval for each hour of study.
Members may access the recordings of modules 1 and 2 should they be unable to attend the webinars live, however, a certificate can only be obtained if all three modules are completed live. Each module shall be accompanied by a written article in our official educational journal.
